Make sure that your GPS is configured to send NMEA 0183 standard output strings using the
4800,8,N,1 serial port port settings and that it is connected to the COM1: port.
Acorn Solutions' GPS Wedge Demonstration
If you have correctly installed the GPS Wedge software and
connected your GPS device, this page
should continuously show your GPS time and position. You may enter arbitrary
text in the text box below. The GPS position, time, and your text
are all sent to the server when you press the 'Submit' button.
Currently this server application just echoes back the information sent to
it, but it could instead add your geo-coded entry to a database, display
a map, or provide some other location-oriented service.

If you want to see the real potential of the GPS Wedge,
then click the button below. Instead of the simple echo test page, your
GPS information will be sent to the MapQuest site, as a map request,
just as if you had entered your latitude and longitude into their search page.
Note that by clicking this button you will be leaving the Acorn Solutions
web site.
